Delivery commitments are easy to make and harder to keep, so it is worth being specific about what ours means. This post sets out how our delivery windows work, which emirates they cover, and what has to happen on your side for a next-day commitment to hold.
What we commit to
We hold stock in Ajman and deliver next day to Ajman, Sharjah and Dubai. That commitment applies to stocked lines ordered within our working hours, which are Saturday to Thursday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Two words in that sentence carry the weight, and we would rather explain them now than in a dispute.
Stocked lines. Next-day applies to items we hold in Ajman. Items brought in to order, or brought in through direct-factory sourcing, run to a lead time we quote per order. When you receive a quotation from us, stocked and indent lines are identified separately.
Within working hours. An order placed during working hours is picked for the next working day. An order placed after hours or on Friday enters the queue at the start of the next working day.
How the working week affects your date
We work Saturday to Thursday. Friday is not a working day for delivery. In practice that means an order placed on Thursday afternoon is delivered on Saturday, not Friday.
This catches people out when their own operation runs a different week, which is common in facilities and hospitality where the building never closes. If your site takes deliveries on a schedule that does not match ours, tell us at account setup and we will agree fixed delivery days instead of relying on next-day.
What we need from you
Most missed windows come from information gaps, not from vehicles. The four things that make a delivery predictable:
- A confirmed delivery address with access detail. Tower name, floor, loading bay, and whether there is a height restriction or a permit requirement. A gated community or a hotel with a designated service entrance needs that noted once, on the account.
- A named site contact who will answer. The most common cause of a failed delivery is a driver on site with nobody responding.
- Delivery hours for your building. Many commercial towers and hotels restrict goods delivery to defined times. If your building only accepts goods before a certain hour, that constrains the window, and we would rather build the route around it.
- Purchase order detail, if your finance process needs it. If an invoice without a purchase order number will not be paid, it is quicker to capture that at account setup.
Beyond the three emirates
Ajman, Sharjah and Dubai are next-day because of where our stock sits and how the routes run. Deliveries to the other emirates are scheduled rather than next-day, and we quote the date per order. We would rather give you a date we can meet than a promise that fits a marketing line.
What happens when something is short
Stock positions move, and occasionally a line is unavailable on the day. Our approach is that you hear about it before the vehicle arrives, not after.
If a line is short we contact the account holder with the options: deliver the rest and follow with the balance, hold the order complete, or substitute with an equivalent product. Substitution only happens with agreement. A substituted product arriving unannounced is a problem for anyone maintaining documentation against a fixed product list, which is exactly the situation our customers are in.
Setting up an account
Account setup is where the delivery detail gets captured, and it is worth twenty minutes. We record delivery addresses and access notes, site contacts, building delivery hours, your agreed price list, and whether you want a standing order on a fixed cycle or call-off against an agreed list.
Once that is in place, ordering becomes routine, and the delivery window stops being something you have to manage.
Veltrix Trading FZC LLC is registered in Ajman and registered for VAT, and our tax registration number appears on every invoice we issue.
Talk to us about your list
If you want to see how your current basket would price and deliver as a single account, send us the list. We will come back with a written quote, the documentation that goes with each line, and the delivery window we can commit to for your emirate. No obligation, and no pressure to move everything at once.
